MEET SMED & ELVIS

My name is Tyler Smedley, but feel free to call me "Smed". It's just me and my quirky work truck, Elvis, on each job (My kids, T & H aren't quite there yet!). I build each loft with my own two hands. My goal isn't to grow and manage a large business. I just love hard, physically demanding work and the satisfaction of a job well done.

If you've looked into it, you may have found that building a loft that spans a long distance (and which you will park vehicles under) carries enough technical risk to move it out of the DIY or handyman camps. Trouble is, larger companies are often after larger jobs, and have steeper pricing (Homewyze.com: "Frame a Subfloor", "Install a subfloor") - while smaller outfits don't usually have experience with long span framing.

Having a background in construction, in 2019 I built our own garage loft with a connecting staircase, which has been a life saver for us. We also found it to be a bit of a spectacle in the neighborhood, and I ended up building a loft for several neighbors and friends. Seeing the demand, and feeling it to be a niche I'd like to master, I went into it full time.

My mission with Lofty Ideas Garage Solutions LLC is simple: help you get the most out of your garage. Its so easy for a garage to become a catch-all for odd items, and soon you are doing acrobatics trying to get to your cars or workbench (if you can park in there at all). Luckily, there is a solution that delivers the best of both worlds: a storage loft. I hope to have the opportunity to earn your business!
